Let us entertain you
Date and Time of Publication:- 2008-07-04 09:13:17This Friday there’s a real treat for the residents at Skinners Court, the estate for older people, as they look forward to a concert performed by 18 pupils of nearby St Michael-at Bowes junior school.
Teacher, Jim Ryan, said, “This concert is the children’s idea. They have been visiting Skinner’s Court for the last 18 months entertaining and socialising with residents. They have planned a show playing musical instruments, singing and telling some jokes. It will be informal, although they have been rehearsing very hard.”
Dawn D’Angelo, said, “This arrangement has been particularly encouraging with both our residents – many of whom are in their 80s, and the children. They have formed great friendships playing snooker and chatting and one of our ladies has been inspired to bake cakes and biscuits for these visits.”
Approximately 20 older people will enjoy the show performed by the 7- 11 year olds – it’s a case of ‘Let us entertain you’.
