Young children aged from 6-8 years old are enjoying a fun entertainment in their schools and learning about road safety at the same time.
The Dangerous Theatre Company is currently touring with its road safety drama Peli and Zebe’s Road-tastic Adventure.
This is the story of two hedgehogs, Peli and his uncle Zebe, who travel around Enfield searching for the Roadwise Ranger.
They use clues and audience participation to help them find safe places to cross the road. A number of different characters also assist in their search and help, reminding them of the Green Cross Code along the way.
Enfield Council’s road safety manager, Roger Miles, said, “This is a popular and imaginative way to give children important information. It forms part of our programme of special events for young children passing on good road safety habits from a very young age.
“Nine schools are taking part in these sessions and they have been extremely successful.”
