Safer Neighbourhood Parks Unit quick on draw with graffiti kids
Date and Time of Publication:- 2008-01-28 14:36:45During a routine patrol on the 30th December 2007, members of the Safer Neighbourhood Parks Unit saw five teenage boys drawing graffiti on a recycling bin in Forty Hall. The team gave chase and detained one youth.

Further enquiries revealed that there were other occasions when the same tag was used in the Carterhatch Lane area of Enfield.
As a result of these enquiries the Chase Ward Team arrested a 14 year old local youth for the damage. He was interviewed by police, admitted the offences, and was given a caution. He also received an Anti Social Behaviour Contract.
All tags will be removed by the Envirocrime Unit.
Cllr Terry Neville, Cabinet Member for Environment and Street Scene said “I am delighted to hear that our Safer Neighbourhood Teams have caught one of these vandals.
“Cleaning up graffiti costs the council a fortune every year, it brings down the tone of the area and is a form of anti social behaviour.
“The council offers a £500 reward for anyone who gives evidence which leads to the conviction of someone who has left graffiti in the borough, so if you know something tell us”
