Road safety winners celebrate
Date and Time of Publication:- 2008-03-25 16:41:42Children and staff at the Allan Pullinger Playgroup in Southgate were thrilled when they received first prize for their road safety knowledge in a competition devised by the Children’s Traffic Club.
Their prize was a “dressing up box” containing police, fire and school crossing patrol costumes for the children to role play, mini ‘balloon character’ costumes, and balloon character bean bags.
Transport for London funds the Children’s Traffic Club, an award winning education programme, developed to teach road safety skills to children between 3 to 4 years old, in a fun and enjoyable way.
Nurseries and playgroups across Enfield have received free club resources to help them learn about road safety.
The competition helped children remember the vital road safety messages such as Handy Hold, who reminds children to hold hands when outside, and Sammy seatbelt who reminds us to always be safely strapped in the car.
