Enfield Council’s education chief is happy to hear- about a hard-hitting play on drug driving in a local school on Monday (28 January).

‘Pills Thrills and Automobiles’, is based on true story, involving a group of friends, who, driving home from Glastonbury music festival in 1987, are involved in horrific crash which kills two of them.

Councillor Glynis Vince, cabinet member for education, children and leisure services, said: “Drug driving is almost as prevalent as drink driving and is just as dangerous. This play sends out the truth about drugs – that they kill.”

The play is aimed at 16 – 18 year-olds only and will tour all Enfield secondary schools over the coming weeks.

The event is part of Enfield Council’s Safe Drive Stay Alive campaign, which is aimed at raising the awareness of the dangers of reckless among young motorists.
