Commit crime then do time says council
Date and Time of Publication:- 2008-02-28 16:29:56Thanks to the hard work of Enfield Council’s Anti Social Behaviour Response Team and the police - anti social resident, Anne Hollingsworth of Dodsley Place, Edmonton, N9 was sentenced to 7 days in prison at Edmonton magistrates court on 14th February 2008.
Ms Hollingsworth, who was living with her mother Mrs Pearl Hollingsworth at the council property, was found guilty of numerous offences such as drug dealing and prostitution at her mother’s flat over a period of 18 months.
Despite being interviewed and warned on a number of occasions Anne Hollingsworth continued to commit acts of anti social behaviour which caused misery to neighbours..
The council applied to the court for an exclusion order banning Anne Hollingsworth from the flat from the 28th November 2007, and thanks to evidence from neighbours, police and social services this was granted. Due to Ms Hollingsworth returning to the property and breaking this order she was sent to jail.
Mrs Pearl Hollingsworth has been offered sheltered housing as she is elderly, she has so far refused this help.
Cllr Ertan Hurer, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and the Voluntary Sector said “Ms Hollingsworth used her mother’s council property as a drug den and a brothel, which as you can imagine caused upset and distress to all her neighbours.
“Despite numerous warnings she carried on regardless with her anti social behaviour, even when we were granted with an exclusion order banning her from the property. Maybe now she has been to jail she will think twice about returning to the flat again.”
