Cllr Lee Chamberlain, will be taking up the office as Mayor of Enfield tomorrow evening at the Council’s Annual General Meeting.

This is a formal event bringing the council year 2007/08 to an official end and starting the new council year 2008/09.

This is a time when the departing mayor, Cllr Don Delman presides over his last meeting.

There will be a big welcome for Cllr Chamberlain who has had a busy year as deputy mayor. He will be invited to be robed in the mayoral dress and to welcome his Mayoress and the new deputy Mayor and deputy Mayoress.

In this traditional ceremony, new mayors introduce themselves to the council and outline their own aspirations for the year to come.
