Family from hell the McDonagh’s from Clive Road, Enfield were recently evicted after a joint operation between Enfield Council’s Anti Social Behaviour Team and the Southbury Ward Police Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The family, who had lived in the road for a year, had subjected their neighbours to numerous problems such as noise, dumped rubbish, fighting in the street, allegations of criminal damage, unsupervised dogs and threatening behaviour.

The Anti Social Behaviour and Safer Neighbourhood Ward teams investigated the complaints and spoke to local residents. They also arranged a meeting attended by over 30 local people where further information and evidence was provided.

As a result of this work the owner of the property was contacted and agreed to take possession of their property through the courts. After this the family were evicted from the property by court bailiffs, supported by officers from the Southbury Ward Team.

Cllr Ertan Hurer, Cabinet Member for Commodity Safety and the Voluntary Sector said “This family caused the most appalling problems for all the local residents with a catalogue of problems from constant noise, anti social behaviour, which included even fighting in the street, dumping rubbish and threatening neighbours. They made life miserable for anyone who had the misfortune to live near them.

“It was great to see how all the local residents banded together, attending the meeting, and how they helped gather the information which was vital in getting the evidence needed to evict these people.

“Thanks to the excellent joint work of Enfield Council’s Anti Social Behaviour Team, working alongside police colleagues from the Safer Neighbourhood Teams, we have managed to get them evicted. This was an excellent job.”
