Firm pays up after failing to own up to litterlout
Date and Time of Publication:- 2008-06-17 16:12:49A BARNET based company has been fined and ordered to pay costs of over £775 spotted throwing litter out of a car.

BBK Registrars Limited, of Beauchamp Court, Victors Way, were found guilty by Enfield Magistrates last week for failing to respond to an enforcement notice asking for details of the driver who was caught throwing a wrapper into Bramley Road, Southgate.
Enfield Councillor Terry Neville – cabinet member for environment said: “This result is yet another example of Enfield Council determination to prosecute any selfish individual or organisation who feels they have the right to spoil our streets.”
The company was faxed a copy of the original notice twice and still failed to respond, so the matter went to prosecution.
The company then entered a written guilty plea, claiming it had not realised the matter had not been dealt with and apologising to the court.
However, the court heard the company had still not provided the information sought, meaning that the council had been unable to pursue the litter investigation.
BBK Registrars Limited was fined £200 and ordered to pay the council's costs of £560.90 plus a victim surcharge of £15, making a total of £775.90.
