These days people can remain independent throughout their lives but as they get older they may need some support in their homes. That’s where sheltered housing can help.

On Thursday 25th January, between 10.30am – 3pm, Enfield residents can find out more at an information open day called ‘Change your life – sheltered housing for all’ at Community House, 311 Fore Street, Edmonton N9.

Self-contained properties all over Enfield are available for older people and those with a disability. Support is available from friendly Sheltered Housing Officers who are on –hand during office hours Monday to Friday.

People living in sheltered housing often find friendship and are encouraged to develop interests in safe, secure surroundings.

Enfield Council wants to ensure that all its residents know about the opportunities for sheltered housing,

In a packed day that sets out to explain all about Sheltered Housing in Enfield, older people from all communities are invited to Community House to see if this form of housing would suit them.

Cllr Matthew Laban, cabinet member for housing, said, ”For many people this form of housing really does work well. People can drop in during the day, meet some of the staff, network with existing tenants and enjoy some light refreshment. We want this to be an informative and lively day.”
