Unique picture display hits town
Date and Time of Publication:- 2006-08-01 13:48:34A colourful display of pictures produced by the children of Cheviots, a centre for children with disabilities and special needs, is being shown on the hoardings of the PalaceXchange shopping development in the heart of Enfield Town.
ING Real Estate Development UK (ING REDUK), the PalaceXchange developer, invited the children to draw images on the theme ‘What I like doing in Enfield’. The best pictures have now been printed on specially commissioned hoarding banners to brighten up the pedestrian walkway entrances from The Town and Cecil Road.

These routes provide access to Marks & Spencer, Pearsons, Palace Gardens and the new PalaceXchange shopping centre development which will be ready this coming October.
The Friends of Cheviots is ING REDUK’s chosen Enfield-based charity for 2005/6. The charity has already received a £17,000 donation from ING REDUK, raised by staff taking part in a variety of sponsored events This money is going towards an adapted vehicle for the children.
Cheviots’ manager, Sue Roberts, said, ”We are truly delighted to have taken part in this project. The chance for our children to see their work displayed in public is a terrific boost to their self-esteem.
“The £17,000 has been a wonderful gift that will serve the children well. On behalf of all the children, staff and families I want to thank ING for their generous support.”

“The drawings supplied by the children are delightfully expressive and colourful and we thank them kindly for their involvement in the project to brighten up the site hoardings before the new shopping development opens in October.”
