It’s National Playday on Wednesday 7 August and children can enjoy a great day at the Enfield Town Park where the council’s play development team has put together a day packed with exciting fun events which are all free,

There will be bouncy castles, arts and crafts, face painting, play activities, games, dance work shops and under fives play area from Asquith Day Nurseries. Enfield Council’s school catering service will also be handing out tasty healthy fruit snacks and information about free school meals

‘Playful Places’ is this year’s theme focusing on fun places and with packed programmes of fun in parks, play centres and leisure centres, children in Enfield will have a great summer.

Play development manager, Ricky Williams, says, “Playday has only one theme for parents, carers and teachers and that is - it is good for children to play – it is one of the best ways to learn, enjoy the company of the young and have some fun.”

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, cabinet member for children and young people said, “Enfield Town Park will be a wonderful playground for young children and they can have some fun in the splash pad.

“This is a special day celebrating our children’s right to play, but I also hope that Enfield’s children take full advantage of the free activities at centres throughout the borough and the adventure places in our parks.”
