New business site forks out new jobs

Published Thursday, 16 January 2014

A welcome addition to the Eley Industrial Estate in Advent Way, Edmonton N18 starts tomorrow when the first forks are plunged into the barren land to build a small business area and a Premier Inn Hotel.

Cllr Del Goddard, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Business & Regeneration, said, “This is a welcome move to create new construction jobs and encourage new business to this area.

“Segro are the developers and Anglo Holt the construction company and they plan to build 15 business units and the hotel in a year. As part of the plan we have agreed with Segro that employment opportunities will be guaranteed for local people.

“During the site’s construction there will be opportunities for building workers and trainees. And once the hotel is built another 25 people are estimated to help in running the hotel.”

Once the site is complete it will be promoted through a strong marketing campaign emphasising the benefits of the location which is near to major roads and the M25.

All new businesses who take a unit will be introduced to JOBSnet for help with recruitment should they need it.
