Published Tuesday, 09 February 2010

Date – Saturday 20th February 2010 Time – 11.30am Venue – Bush Hill Park - Meet by the Fellowship hut - entrance in Southbury Road opposite George Spicer School, and on Lincoln Road close to The Lincoln Arms public house.

Soon Bush Hill Park will be resplendent with 20 brand new trees, thanks to the generosity of the 4th Enfield Cubs. The trees are due to be planted by the cubs with help from the Friends of Bush Hill Park in their 'Make a Copse' event.

The trees, which were donated by the cubs, are a mixture of Rowan, Wild Cherry and Silver Birch, and are being planted to help the youngsters take pride in their local green open space.

There is also time for fun, as the children will be asked to spot the 10 bird boxes which have recently been hidden within existing trees to encourage wild birds to the area.

Caroline Wilmer from Friends of Bush Hill Park said "This event is one of the many initiatives that we are planning for our park.

"These include new playground equipment, a wildlife garden, and the renovation of our shelter with artwork from local children.

"It's going to be a busy year for our park."
