Condemned play area to get new lease of life

Published Thursday, 16 January 2014

A condemned play area will be renovated and improved thanks to a £40,000 improvement scheme funded by Enfield Council and the London Marathon Trust.

The money from the Enfield Resident’s Priority Fund and the London Marathon Trust will mean the play area in Wilbury Way Open space can be renovated and brought up to date.

The friends of the park group and residents will now be consulted on the features they would like to see in the new look facility prior to work starting, Enfield Council hopes the improvement works will be completed by early summer.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Chris Bond, said: “It’s great news that we can get on with renovating this playground and provide the families living around Wilbury Way Open Space with a high quality play area which meets their needs.”
