Funding Success for Libraries

Published Wednesday, 18 December 2013

Enfield Council was celebrating this week after its Library and Museum Service was awarded £45,000 from the Enterprising Libraries Fund.

The service has successfully bid for funds to support local economic growth by providing a cloud based computing offer, coaching in the use of computers and online resources to support local businesses to develop.

It will be working with Enterprise Enfield to deliver a programme of start-up seminars and advice and guidance sessions for people who want to set up their own business.

The programme will be launched in February 2014 and anyone completing the programme will be given free access to a ‘Cloud’ service for a year.

Cllr Bambos Charalambous, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure Youth and Localism said “One of the winners of this year’s Enterprise Business Awards attended a Barclay’s start-up seminar hosted in an Enfield library in 2012, so we know how successful these schemes can be, and how they can motivate people.

“I am delighted that we have been successful in securing this money to help even more local people develop their business ideas into reality and look forward to us helping even more of tomorrow’s entrepreneurs”
