Be a candidate for youth elections

Published Tuesday, 25 June 2013

Elections to Enfield’s Youth Parliament take place in October, during local democracy week and young people aged from 11-19, or up to 25 for those with a disability, have an opportunity to find out how they can get involved.

There are two sessions, organised by Enfield Council, where they can hear about the activities of the Enfield Youth Parliament and how to apply to be a candidate for the election.

These sessions are taking place on Thursday 27 June from 5.30pm – 8pm at the Ponders End Youth Club and Tuesday 16 July 5.30pm – 8pm at the Enfield Civic Centre.

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, Enfield’s Cabinet Member for Children & Young People, said, “The Enfield Youth Parliament was set up to represent all young people in the borough. The matters that concern young people do come to the council. We promise to listen to young people and work with them.”
