Armed Forces Day Parade 2013

Published Tuesday, 04 June 2013

On Sunday 30th June Enfield will continue its long-standing tradition of hosting an Armed Forces Day Parade to honour the sacrifices of our country’s military.

This year, Enfield Council will be supporting Enfield Royal British Legion to once again honour these brave men and women with a parade that will begin at 11.40am outside Chase Side Primary School in Trinity Street.

The parade, led by The Caledonian Pipers Band, will march through Enfield Town and include serving troops and their families, veterans, recruits and cadets.

Residents and well wishers are very welcome to line the route.

Cllr Doug Taylor, Leader of Enfield Council said “For this year’s Armed Forces Day Parade I once again want to remember and thank all those involved in our armed forces, be they currently serving, veterans or cadets who are just starting their career. We must also honour those who have lost their lives so bravely in the defence of our freedom.

"Enfield Council is committed to supporting our Armed Forces Community, and will be hosting a special event before Armed Forces Day. This event will see an 'Armed Forces Community Covenant' signed by representatives from the London Armed Forces, members of Enfield Council, the police, National Health Service and London Armed Forces Charities as well as other public service providers to outline our wholehearted commitment to supporting all those who have served or who are currently serving in the armed forces and who live in Enfield."
