An exciting new production at Millfield Theatre on Thursday and Friday 21st and 22nd February, 7pm

‘Sleeping Beauty – what really happened’ is the second drama with actors who have learning disabilities working with a young team of actors from local schools and colleges in Enfield .

Enfield Council’s Formont Centre for people with complex learning and physical disabilities is presenting the show.

Peter says, “I worked with the Formont Centre two years ago on the Wizard of Oz helping with direction and playing the Tin Man and it was a terrific success.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and for this new show I have been able to give useful tips on acting and stage craft.

“This show is going to be just as good – and for me it is always so satisfying to see this take shape. Gradually we have all worked together to get the very best performances from everyone taking part.”

The show has a cast of young actors, service users from Formont and other community services based in Enfield and Peter will also be taking part.

It is a colourful fairytale packed with songs, dance and music.

Cllr Don McGowan, cabinet member for adult social care and health, said, “This promises to be a great show. Thanks must go to the Formont staff, the young people from Southgate and the service users who have worked so hard to make this a success.

“We are also delighted that Peter Dean who is a professional actor has volunteered with his time and patience which is so appreciated. His humour and kindness has helped to build confidence in this unusual project.”
