Change a young life at the pop up shop

Published Monday, 03 December 2012

Amid the hustle and bustle of shopping in Enfield Town, a new shop is springing up for Christmas for a limited period from Monday 10th December to Friday 14th December.

Connexions, 59 Church Street , Enfield Town (Opposite the library)

The shop is designed to promote the rewards of fostering with helpful staff from the council’s fostering team on hand to explain the process and provide information.

Here you can also meet experienced foster carers who will tell you about the rewards that fostering can bring both to you and the children who need a temporary loving home.

So look out for the shop and pop in to find out more and enjoy a mince pie and a hot drink.

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, Enfield ’s cabinet member for children and young people said, “Christmas is a time for children, but for whatever reason, some of them will need care. Foster carers do a wonderful job and we are lucky in Enfield to have so many remarkable carers.

“But we want to welcome new carers – and I can assure them that it is a vital job that we cannot do without.”
