Pest control fees reduced by Enfield Council

Pest control fees are going down!

Enfield Council has reduced the cost of its some of its pest control treatments to residents as part of a drive to help eradicate a London wide increase in bugs and vermin.

The borough is lowering the price of wasp and bed bug treatments to encourage more people to take up the service and nip problems with pests in the bud.

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Chris Bond, said: "The whole of London is reporting an increase in the number of pests and vermin running around and we carry out thousands of visits to residents and business every year.

"We want to make the service as accessible and effective as possible and encourage residents to use the excellent service we offer, we've decided to drop the price because many families are finding it difficult to make ends meet at the moment and we don't want residents to be discouraged from using the council's pest control people because they can't afford to get the experts in.

"We've seen an increase in the number of people who are trying to get rid of pest themselves but the problem with that approach is that it doesn't always work and the number of pests can increase rapidly, making it much harder to deal with an infestation when we are eventually called in."

From now prices for wasp treatments have dropped from £58 to £48, Bedbug visits for single bedroom homes or bedsits will drop from £153 to £105.
