Four wonderful parks in Enfield celebrate the end of the London 2012 Festival Sunday 9 September 2012, 1pm - 5pm

Hillyfields Park Enfield Council invite everyone to come out and enjoy the Bandstand Marathon events at Broomfield, Hillyfields, Ponders End and Albany Parks. Each park will come alive with music on Sunday 9 September, marking the end of the London 2012 Festival and an amazing summer of sport and culture on the final day of the Paralympic Games.

It will be a truly memorable day, showcasing the best local talent and an eclectic musical programme including local rock, world music, and folk bands, up and coming pop and R&B artists, choirs & classical musicians and more. This free event will entertain audiences from 1-5pm, offering everyone who comes along a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the nationwide finale celebrations for London 2012.

The event line up will include:
•    Urban pop from Cardan Jayy, local favourites Music from the Red Room and R&B acapella from 4 Real at Albany Park, EN3 5PA
•    Reggae, soul and Afro-Caribbean music from Harambe Drummers, Lovella Ellis, Jawal Van Brown, and Royal Sounds at Broomfield Park, N13 4RB
•    Out to Lunch and 60s soul from the Soul Agents at Hillyfields Park, EN2 0UD
•    A variety of local and regional acts at Ponders End Park, EN3 4EY

Theses events will be among hundreds of outdoor concerts taking place simultaneously in bandstands and outdoor performance spaces across the UK, making up the nationwide Bandstand Marathon – the official closing event of the London 2012 Festival.

Cllr Bambos Charalambous, Enfield Council Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Youth and Localism, said: “We are thrilled to be part of this great national celebration of music. I congratulate all the local people who have stepped forward to organise the four bandstand concerts at Broomfield Park, Hillyfields, Ponders End Park, and Albany Park and to all the performers for participating in bringing this memorable summer to an end. It will be a great day out for families, residents and visitors to come and enjoy some great music in Enfield’s beautiful parks.”
