Have your say about the proposed Joint Service Centre on Ordnance Road

Published Friday, 10 August 2012

Enfield Council has announced plans for a joint service centre comprising library, GP surgery, dentist and community space.

Ordnance Road, joint service centre

Residents are being asked to give their opinions on the proposed design of the centre at two drop-in sessions to be held at the Ordnance Road Library on Monday 20 August from 3pm-6pm and Tuesday 21 August from 10am-1pm.

Residents will be able to view the site plan, floor plans, elevations and 3D pictures for the project. Partners involved in the scheme will be on hand to listen to comments and answer questions.

The plans will remain on display in the library for those unable to make the drop-in sessions.

The proposal will be presented to the planning committee on 27 November, with construction on site expected to begin early in 2013 for a 2014 completion.

Cllr Bambos Charalambous, Enfield Council Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Youth and Localism, said: “The Council is determined to provide a better library experience with at least the same amount of useable public space as the current library.

“There will also be WiFi, more computers and quieter areas for study and reading added to make it a fantastic new space.

“We welcome residents’ feedback on the design of this exciting and much-needed centre and are certain that seeing the plans for the site first-hand will generate a degree of interest and excitement about the project.

“We believe this will really improve the facilities on offer to the local community.”

The consultation sessions will be held at the Ordnance Road Library, located at 645 Hertford Road, Enfield EN3 6ND.

Further details about the consultation can be found on the council's Consultation and Engagement Register.
