Enfield Council Library and Museum Service welcomes back users with fine amnesty

Published Wednesday, 23 May 2012

Enfield Library and Museum Service is welcoming back residents who may have been avoiding the library because of overdue items or fines by offering a two week amnesty.

From 21 May-3 June, library users can return overdue items to any library without penalty. Customers who have existing fines can also visit a library and ask to have their records cleared.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Sport and Leisure, Cllr Bambos Charalambous said: ‘This is a terrific chance for those residents who may have come across some long overdue item during their spring cleaning to bring it back with no questions asked.

'We want to give residents the opportunity to have a fresh start with libraries. It is such a valuable service and we want to encourage as many people as possible to use it. If this amnesty will bring people back and recover lost items it will be successful.'
