Noise nuisance advice

Published Tuesday, 15 May 2012

Residents will be able to get help and advice on how to deal with noise nuisance at drop in sessions organised by Enfield Council next week.

Enfield Council's Noise Team are holding two events where residents can discuss problems ranging from anti-social noise, loud music, parties, barking dogs, car and house alarms and commercial noise.

The sessions have been organised to coincide with noise action week and officers will be on hand to give advice on which organisation to contact if noise is making their life a misery.

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Chris Bond, said: "Noise nuisance can absolutely wreck residents' quality of life, and cause friction between neighbours and these sessions are designed to help stop that from happening."

"In the vast majority of cases noises nuisance can be tackled by having a quiet word with the person responsible, but if that doesn't work we're giving residents the information they need to deal with the problem quickly and efficiently."

Noise Officers will be on hand between 10:00-16:00 at the following locations:

  • 23 May 2012: In the front foyer of Tesco Supermarket, 288 High Street, Ponders End, Enfield North, EN3 4JW
  • 24 May 2012: Asda Supermarket, 1 West Mall, Edmonton Green, N9
