Summary of services affected by Strike Action TODAY Wednesday 30 November

Refuse and Recycling Collections - There is expected to be disruption to services. Most recycling routes are proceeding as normal, but there will be no collections in parts of Bullsmoor Lane, Turkey St, The Ridgeway and Bulls Crosse and the whole of Whitewebbs Lane, Burntfarm Ride, Cattlegate Road, East Lodge Lane. Residents who do not have their recycling collected will have it picked up on Wednesday 7 December. Collections that were missed yesterday will not be picked up today.

Street Cleansing - It is anticipated this service will be affected although the Council will make every effort to keep the borough’s busiest areas as clean as possible. Areas which are not swept on Wednesday will be swept on their next schedule visit, this could be the next day or within the next week depending on how frequently the road is cleaned. Staff will be sweeping and emptying litter bins in town centres but fly tipping clearance will only be carried out on main roads today.

Parks - Parks will be locked and unlocked as normal, Whitewebbs Gold Course is open and park maintenance will be carried out, but with fewer operatives on duty.

Electrical Goods Collection Service - This service will is not be operating today.

Furniture Collection Service - This service is operating normally.

Barrowell Green Civic Amenity Site - The Civic Amenity site will be closed today.

Libraries - Nine of the borough’s 16 libraries close routinely on Wednesdays anyway and will not therefore be affected by strike action. The Council is not anticipating any closures of libraries but residents are advised to phone their library and check the Council’s website before visiting.

Leisure Centres - Enfield Council does not currently expect any leisure centres to close, however residents are advised to visit the Fusion Enfield website for up to date information on which facilities and classes are proceeding as normal.

Adult Social Care - The impact of the strike action on adult social care is expected to be minimal, we still expect to provide a care and support service to all vulnerable customers on that day. People who have any concerns should call the Council Access Team on 020 8379 1001.

Admissions and Pupil Benefits Service - Reduced level of service will be available. Check with your provider for more details before attending an appointment.

Triangle House - This service is operating normally today.

Angel Centre - A number of parent programme sessions that are scheduled to take place in schools on Wednesday mornings will be cancelled, however the course will be extended by a week to enable attendees to catch up.

Bowes Children’s Centre - Residents should contact the centre directly if they plan to attend today.

Carterhatch Children’s Centre - Residents should contact the centre directly if they plan to attend today.

DeBohun Children’s Centre - This service is operating normally today.

Garfield Children’s Centre - Day-care/Nursery will be closed and parents have already been notified. The Young People Projects (for students from Broomfield school) and Midwife Clinic will not be taking place.

Hazelbury Children’s Centre - Residents should contact the centre directly if they plan to attend today.

Hazelwood Children’s Centre - Residents should contact the centre directly if they plan to attend today.

Lavender Children’s Centre - This centre will be closed and offer no services today.

Lower Edmonton Children’s Centre - Residents should contact the centre directly if they plan to attend today.

TAB Children’s Centre - This centre will open as normal.

EASS (Music Service) - This service will operate as normal.

Education Welfare Service - This service will operate as normal.

Play Service (After School Clubs) - Residents should contact the centre directly if they plan to attend today.

Safeguarding – Children’s Social Services - There will be sufficient staff to cover statutory obligations & emergencies. Any concerns from the public about the safety of children should be reported in the normal way.

Day Care Centres - These will be open but there may be some difficulties with transport provision to and from the centres. Residents with queries should contact the day centre directly.

Care and Support Services – Expects to provide a care and support service to all vulnerable customers. People who have any concerns should call the Council Access Team on 020 8379 1001.
