Council cleans up with special litterpick event

Published Wednesday, 28 September 2011

Date – Wednesday 5th October 2011 Time – 1.00pm till 3.00pm Venue – Gough Park, Clay Hill, EN2 (Meeting point outside Bridge House, 1 Forty Hill)

If you care about your environment and are free on the 5th October why not join with Friends of the Parks, Enfield Council’s Street Hawks and Eco Detectives plus other Council volunteers to do a special litterpick in Gough Park.

After the recent riots many people came forward to express an interest in helping to keep their local area clean and tidy. Some areas need extra help to keep in top shape, and Gough Park was identified as being one of them.

Everyone is welcome to turn up and join in! Don’t forget to bring your own refreshments and wear suitable clothing for all weather conditions. We will provide tabards, litter pickers, gloves and sacks.

Cllr Chris Bond, Cabinet Member for Environment said “It is heartening that after the riots so many people expressed an interest in spending some of their spare time helping to clean up our green spaces.

“This event is great for community spirited residents who want to make a difference to their local area and all get together and pitch in. It’s also a wonderful chance to meet like minded people who are interested in their local area.”
