We will not surrender our streets to mindless morons says enviro chief.
Enfield Council swept into action last night to ensure Enfield Town was open for business.
Street sweepers started clearing away debris yesterday evening after Sunday nights mindless vandalism and violence in Enfield Town.
With the one way system now open, Enfield Councillor Chris Bond has vowed the council will not surrender the streets to criminals.
The cabinet member for environment said: "Our street workers have done a marvellous job in clearing away debris last night to ensure Enfield Town is open for business.
This shows we will not let these criminals beat us. We will not surrender our streets to these mindless morons."
Cllr Bond also praised local police for their professionalism and bravery.
He said: I think the police have done a great job. They responded robustly in the initial disturbances which was right and we have worked with them to ensure Enfield Town is open for business.
