Bush Hill Park by-election result

Lee Chamberlain has been declared the winner of the Bush Hill Park by-election following the poll yesterday (Thursday 28 July).

The Conservative candidate polled 1,108 votes ahead of the Labour Party candidate, Ivor Wiggett in second with 668 votes and Independent candidate, Tony Kingsnorth in third place with 230.

The other candidates were Paul Smith (Liberal Democrats - 177 votes), Douglas Coker (Green Party - 100 votes), Gwyneth Rolph (UK Independence Party - 70 votes), Stephen Squire (British National Party - 61 votes), Clive Morrison, (Christian Party - 45 votes) and Ben Weald (The English Democrats - 29 votes)

The turn out was 23.83% and five ballot papers were spoiled.

Mr Chamberlain will take his place on Enfield Council in due course, the by-election was called following the resignation of the Conservative councillor Eleftherios Savva.
