May the force be with you

‘Star Wars’ fans are in for a real treat as Enfield’s Museum staff plan the next exhibition for later this year.

If you can help in the planning they are looking for all kinds of Star Wars memorabilia from posters and comics, toys, promotional material, models - indeed anything that stirs up the force of these iconic film fantasies.

The exhibition will look at the way 'Star Wars' influenced the merchandising of toys, sweets, cards, magazines, posters and even ice lollies that were enjoyed in the 70s and 80s.

How we view films - on television, at the cinema and on video in the home will also be explored in this exhibition.

So what are your 'Star Wars' memories? Do you still have items from the 70s, 80s and beyond that others would find interesting?

Come for a memory chat at the museum on Saturday 21 May from 10am - 12noon or Wednesday 25 May 6pm - 8pm and meet an old Star Wars fan who will be bringing some old and rare Star Wars memorabilia to look at.

Entrance will be through the door which opens onto Cecil Road next to Argos. For details call: 020 8379 1468 e-mail: val.munday@enfield.gov.uk
