National Grid Gas will be continuing with their replacement programme along the Hertford Road.

LBE are also undertaking a Street Lighting replacement programme along the Hertford Road. These works have been co-ordinated to minimise potential traffic disruption.

National Grid Gas Works - Turkey Street Closed at Junction of Hertford Rd July for 8 weeks

In order to facilitate the National Grid Gas mains replacement work along the Hertford Road the junction at Turkey Street will need to be closed.

The works are due to start around Late July 2009 and are likely to be on going for a period of eight weeks.

The will be a diversion route will be used through out the closure.

National Grid Gas - Mains Replacement Works and LBE Carriageway Works Lavender Hill EN2

From April 2009 right through to the end of the year, Lavender Hill will be subject to major road and street works being undertaken by both LBE and National Grid Gas.
National Grid Gas are continuing with their replacement programme and are inserting new plastic 280mm diameter (10 inch) pipe within the old existing worn out cast iron main pipe.

LBE is carrying out partial reconstruction and resurfacing works in Lavender Hill from the junction of Chase Side to the junction of Gordon Hill.  It is essential that the gas works are completed prior to LBE's works.  In order for this to be done, both LBE and National Grid contractors are working on Lavender Hill during the same period (around July to September / October 2009).

LBE are occupying Lavender Hill from the junction of Chase Side to the junction of Gordon Hill, while National Grid Gas are occupying Lavender Hill from the junction of Holtwhites Hill to the junction of Gordon Hill.

On Monday 20th July 2009 LBE started with its reconstruction programme in Lavender Hill for a duration of 8-12 weeks.  During these works Lavender Hill will be closed, with a diversionary route set out on the attached map.  Westbound traffic (from Lancaster road heading towards The Ridgeway) will be diverted via Chase Side, Windmill Hill, The Ridgeway.  Westbound (The Ridgeway to Lancaster Road) will be The Ridgeway, Windmill Hill, and Chase Side.
