Parks project promises no stone left unturned

Cllr Doug Taylor, Leader of Enfield Council, and various parks and leisure staff said these boots ARE made for walking last week as they went on a special tour of the most well used parks in the borough.
The team went to Albany, Trent, Grovelands, Broomfield, Pymmes, Jubilee and Town Parks on a special fact finding project.
Although beautiful there have been allegations in the past of issues about litter and anti social behaviour in parks.
Cllr Taylor said "We are one of the greenest boroughs in London with over 2005ha of land for the public to enjoy, with over 67 parks. Some of our parks, for example Trent, even have ancient woodlands, and others have scheduled ancient monuments.
"However we are aware that some park users do occasionally experience issues with our open spaces. To tackle this some council staff and I toured major parks in the borough, speaking to park users and examining the facilities on offer to park users.
"We got a real first hand account of our parks and open spaces, and heard from residents what they like about our parks, and what needs to be improved."
