Enfield Council heard this week that its seven Green Flag parks scored highly for a new award which looked at the 5 year management plans that are in place for each park.

Examined by judges from the Green Flag scheme, each of the seven parks, Enfield Town, Forty Hall, Jubilee, Pymmes, Grovelands, Oakwood and Trent Park each demonstrated that they had efficient parks operations and that their grounds were being well maintained.

Cllr Chris Bond, Cabinet Member for Environment, Street Scene and Parks said "To gain a Green Flag for a park is great news, but this assessment ensures that our good work continues.

"This assessment saw Green Flag judges returning to our accredited parks and that correct procedures were in place, and that once we have achieved a Green Flag we kept up the good work, and do not rest on our laurels.

"All our Green Flag parks were rated as having very well maintained grounds, and it confirmed that we also have firm plans in place to ensure a year on year improvement for all our parks. This shows how committed we are to the Green Flag awards and achieving the highest possible standards within limited resources.

"I want to thank all the parks staff who work tirelessly maintaining our beautiful parks, and all our Friends of Parks, without them these awards would not be possible."
