Buckland, Bond and Big Mac loving the litter pick in Grovelands

Enfield’s new mayor and enviro chief joined volunteers and workers from the borough branches of McDonalds to help in a litter pick at Grovelands Park in Southgate.
The event is part of the Capital Clean Up Campaign, a multi-agency group which aims to improve London's environment.
Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Jayne Buckland said: "It's fantastic to see so many volunteers and workers come together to help keep Grovelands Park beautiful.
"I do hope this sort of positive action fosters a new, invigorated community sprit in the borough which will help the Council make Enfield a better borough."
Councillor Chris Bond, cabinet member for environment, said: "We are 100% committed to sustaining and improving our environment.
"This sort of community can-do spirit compliments the council's comprehensive cleaning service and the many thousands of hours our workers spend every week helping to make Enfield among the cleanest boroughs in London on behalf of residents."
The volunteers taking part include the successful Street Hawks initiative and Friends of Grovelands Park.
Ann Ceeney of Friends of Grovelands said: "Enfield's parks are the borough's greatest asset and Grovelands is certainly one of the most beautiful.
"Litter blights London, although Enfield is one of the cleanest boroughs in the capital. But we must all do our bit, not just leave it all up to the council, and pick litter up to ensure we keep Britain, London and Enfield tidy."
David Fairhurst, Senior Vice President at McDonald's said: "We all need to work together to tackle the issue of litter, and at McDonald's we recognise we have a part to play.
"That's why all our restaurants have regular, daily litter patrols and why we are always looking at new ways to reduce packaging and recycle it when we can.
"We're looking forward to participating in Capital Clean-up again this year to help create a cleaner, greener Enfield and London."
