Enfield Council has secured second place in this year’s prestigious ACES Award for Excellence in property management 2015.

ACES is the Association of Chief Estates Surveyors and Property Managers in the public sector, and it comprises of the professional heads of property and asset management services in local authorities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The award recognised the team for its response in dealing with temporary accommodation in the borough, and its work in setting up a new office for Housing Gateway Ltd to deal with the acquisitions process.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance & Efficiency, Cllr Andrew Stafford, said “This is good news because it shows that our properties are well managed, we are saving the taxpayer money and that we are being efficient.

“But we are not going to be rest on our laurels and will continue to look for even more ways of saving and making money in the years to come as we seek to mitigate the impact of the significant reductions in funding.”

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Housing Regeneration, Cllr Ahmet Oykener, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received this prestigious award from ACES. I am particularly proud of how Enfield Council dealt so efficiently with the setting up of our Housing Gateway Team.

“This team will be working on getting tenants out of expensive temporary accommodation and into secure housing, so ensuring that they had proper offices set up quickly was a great achievement”.
