A special competition was held this week at Tatem Park in Palmers Green, organised by Enfield Council and Brownes construction, to make real improvements to the area.

Cllr Daniel Anderson, and the Mayor of Enfield Council, Cllr Patricia Ekechi, visited the site to see what had been done. Work included renewing flowerbeds, improving the entrance area, pond dredging and the addition of some new aquatic plants.

These enhancements were funded by Brownes Construction and were undertaken by staff from the company, overseen by parks officers, whilst taking part in a friendly competition.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Daniel Anderson, said “We are really grateful to all the staff from Brownes Construction who have not only funded these key improvements to the park, but who are working alongside our own officers to improve this area.

“The addition of new plants will encourage wildlife, and the general upgrading of the park will make it a more pleasant place to visit for local people.

“The Mayor and I are absolutely delighted to have been asked to judge the winning team, and are looking forward to seeing everything when it is completed.”
