Hate Crime Forum draws crowds

Residents were invited to a meeting organised by the borough’s Hate Crime forum where young people spoke on how religion has helped them stay out of trouble.

The event took place at Community House in Fore Street, Edmonton.

Suj Ponnampalam , Hate Crime Co-ordinator for Enfield Council's Community Safety Unit said: "There was 200 hate crimes in the borough last year, which is 200 too many.

"This forum aimed to bring people together and promote tolerance and understanding in our community.

"The theme centre on religion and how that can be a force for good in our community."
