Council Competition puts Enfield in the picture.

Enfield residents are being challenged to capture their borough on camera - in a new competition launched by Enfield Council today.

Photographers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to get snapping, in a bid to capture images which represent life in the London borough.

The winning image will be used in future Council campaigns promoting local shops and businesses, and the winner will take home an SLR digital camera.

Deputy Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Achilleas Georgiou said: “The Enfield Captured Competition is an opportunity for residents to connect with us - and to show us what life in the borough means to them. Enfield’s striking architecture, green open spaces, bustling markets, or vibrant night cityscape could all be worthy contenders. We are looking for images which really capture the spirit and diversity of Enfield life, and which celebrate a sense of local community.”

Next month will see the launch of the council’s new website, which will provide easy online access to all council services, and create a digital hub for the local community. The promotion of local shops and businesses is one of the website’s key aims, and the winning photograph will feature in a new campaign due to be launched in the Autumn.

The Enfield Captured competition runs until Friday 30th October, and is open to anyone age 12 and above who lives or works in the borough. Entrants should submit a high quality digital photograph, along with a short description to : Email

A runners-up prize of an iPad mini is also on offer.
