Modern Enfield celebrated in photo competition

Published Wednesday, 01 July 2015

A photo competition has been launched to mark 50 years of the London Borough of Enfield.

Photographers of all ages are being invited to capture an image of a subject of their choosing in the borough from one of five categories:

• Enfield at home
• Enfield at school
• Enfield at work
• Enfield at leisure
• Enfield landmarks

Everyone living, working or studying in Enfield can enter, and there is a special category for young photographers aged between 10 and 14.

All winning photos will be displayed in a gallery on the Enfield Council website and may appear in exhibitions around the borough.

Enfield Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Achilleas Georgiou, said: “Enfield Council is 50 years old this year, this is why we have launched this exciting LBE50 campaign and photography competition.

“The competition will be celebrating by not only reviewing the best of Enfield’s past, but looking for iconic photos which show everything good about the modern borough of Enfield.

“There are five categories to choose from, so what are you waiting for? Get snapping our wonderful borough and send those photos to us.”

Email your photos to email with the subject line ‘photo competition’.

Please make sure all photos are high resolution so we can print them, and do not forget to give us your full contact details and which category you are entering.

The closing date for entries is 7 September 2015, and judging will commence shortly afterwards.
