Clement Medford Room, Ponders End Youth Centre, 129 South Street, Enfield, EN3 4PX

The event, being organised by the Housing Development & Estate Renewal Team at Enfield Council in partnership with Durkan and Countryside Properties, will provide the opportunity for local people to become aware of the breadth of career opportunities locally within construction.

There will be advice and guidance from industry experts and CONEL College, Oasis Hadley, Enfield Council’s employment / apprenticeship officers, plus education, training and employment guidance from the Youth Service.

In addition there will be advice and guidance on employment, some ‘myth busting’ activities for visitors, and potentially some ‘on site’ work experience opportunities.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Housing Regeneration, Cllr Ahmet Oykener said “This event has been arranged to highlight the £150m regeneration project for the Alma Estate, which is not only our largest housing estate renewal scheme, but one which will act as a powerful catalyst for the regeneration of wider Ponders End.

“The day is about inviting people from the local area of Ponders End, to find out more about possible training and job opportunities within this exciting project.”

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Business Development, Cllr Alan Sitkin, said: "This is a great opportunity for people in Ponders End to find out more about careers in the construction industry, working on a flagship project in their local area.

"We have ambitious plans for Enfield in the coming years, and the construction industry will be at the forefront of delivering massive regeneration programmes across Enfield. This is a truly brilliant opportunity for our young people to get involved in shaping the future of their borough but also building a prosperous and stimulating career for themselves at the same time."
