Saturday 22nd May will see the Friends of Bush Hill Park working with children from George Spicer School and Bush Hill Park Primary to revamp areas of the park for the community.

The youngsters will work with the Friends and other volunteers to revamp a currently neglected shelter on site, which is the oldest structure in the park. Under the guidance of ArtStart Edmonton the children will transform the shabby shed into a cheerful work of art.

The Wildlife Garden Area which sits at the North West corner of the park is also undergoing a complete refurbishment, including better access to the area via an improved pathway thanks to a generous grant obtained by one of the Friends.

This allows it to be open to all for the first time, including those who are less mobile.

Chris Duggan, from the Friends of Bush Hill Park said "We are incredibly proud of what we have managed to do in Bush Hill Park so far with the Wildlife Garden Area, continued work with our Visitors Centre, and now the shelter.

"We hope our work can allow the full potential of this pretty little park to be fully realised, and look forward to lots of people coming down on the day to join us to make the day really special.

"We also really need some more members to help us, if anyone is interested in becoming a Friend, please let us know, you would be very welcome"
