Published Thursday, 12 March 2015

Great British Bake Off’ contestant, Urvashi Roe, who appeared on BBC2's Great British Bake Off Series 2 in 2011, is now managing the cafe in Enfield Town Library.

In the past few weeks Urvashi has been developing an exciting and varied menu serving fresh coffee, speciality tea and cakes. She is determined to source ingredients from local producers as she plans her menus.

These include: Enfield Veg Co, Forty Hall Farm, Wildes Cheese and Holtwhites being showcased, among other British based producers.

Urvashi, an Enfield resident for the last 17 years, is thrilled to be bringing her passion for food and baking to the community hub at Enfield Town Library.

She says, “The library is providing literary inspiration and I am enjoying meeting people and finding out about their favourite foods as I develop my menu.”

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Children’s Services & Protection, added: “We are delighted to welcome Urvashi and her unique baking and passion for quality food. This is bound to be popular with all library visitors.”

The Library Cafe opened on 25 February. Follow @LibraryCafeEN2 on Twitter for updates, promotions and exclusive offers.
