Enfield Council has launched a new consultation about its ambitious proposals for the area known as Central Leeside. It is a plan to enable major improvements in the area which includes Meridian Water, Angel Road Station, Pickett’s Lock, Edmonton Eco-Park, Deephams sewage works and other major industrial areas.

The plan sets out proposals for:
• A new community at Meridian Water bringing 5,000 new homes, 3,000 additional jobs and leisure opportunities
• Plans for a low carbon energy network
• Greatly improved public transport
• Business and economic growth

Cllr Alan Sitkin, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration said “We are incredibly excited about our plans for Central Leeside. Enfield Council is working with its partners and the community to create an area of sustainable housing, hundreds of new jobs, and a revamped industrial area, transforming Central Leeside for the future.

“We are looking to introduce 21st century energy solutions, bringing affordable and sustainable heating to hundreds of homes, and deliver significant improvements and connectivity to the train network. But we need your views, so let us know by taking part in the consultation.”
