Power of Dreams

This week 12 young performers battled it out at Millfield Theatre for the gong of top singer / rapper and top dancer in the annual ‘Power of Dreams’ competition.

The event, run by Enfield Council and Enfield Homes saw judges from both the organisations, the police and top Tottenham Hotspur player Sebastien Bassong casting their votes.

The artists were excellent, and at one point all collected on stage for an impromptu performance, which was the highlight of the show.

The winners were:
Dancers - Cerebro Dance Group
Under 16 singer - Tiffani Singh-Brown
Over 16 singer - Edmund Jeffery

Top dance prize was personalised dance gear with the group's own logo and a headphone for each member, and the top singers won the right to have their act professionally recorded in a studio.

Suj Ponnampalam, Hate Crime Coordinator for Enfield Council said "The acts we saw on the night again exceeded our expectations, and it was incredibly hard to choose winners.

"The judges could not help but be bowled over by the energetic moves of Cerebro Dance Group, the beautiful voice of Tiffani Singh-Brown, and the songs of Edmund Jeffrey.

"When everyone got together on stage for a jam session it amazed me that despite the diversity of the acts everyone just seemed to blend together.

"It's great to see young people eager to contribute to events like this, and the partnership is more than willing to help support them develop their talents and enhance their life chances.

"It was an excellent night"
