Enfield Council scoops parks award

Published Thursday, 11 December 2014

Enfield Council’s work to protect and enhance the borough’s parks and open spaces has been recognised by an organisation responsible for ensuring access to free, outdoor spaces for sport, play and recreation.

The council received the ‘Partner of the Year Award’ from Fields in Trust last week, (3 December), in recognition of its efforts in investing significant amounts in its parks and protecting five of its parks (Craig Park, Jubilee Park, Ponders End Park, St. George’s Field and Tatem Park) in perpetuity by successfully applying for Field in Trust status for them.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Community Safety, Cllr Chris Bond, said: “We’re proud of our parks and invest an enormous amount of time and money into providing facilities and attractions within them for our residents to use and enjoy, so it is very pleasing to receive such a prestigious national award in recognition of our efforts.”
