The officers placed notices on the vehicles warning the person selling the cars that they may be committing an offence and that the council had the power to seize the vehicles if an offence was being committed.

The next day the officers returned and found the vehicles had been removed but the blue Vauxhall on sale on the corner of Hertford Road and Albany Park Avenue.

The vehicle was removed and Tasoglu, who was found to be the person who had insured the vehicle was invited to be interviewed under caution where he admitted the vehicle was his and he did not have a licence to trade in the street.

Check found all three vehicles were registered as “in trade” and were insured by Tasoglu.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Community Safety, Cllr Chris Bond, said: “There is no excuse for trading without a licence and causing a nuisance to residents and we’ll take prompt and appropriate action to deal with those who do.

“This prosecution sends out the message that we take notice of our residents’ concerns and act promptly when they come to us for help, I hope this sentence acts as a deterrent to illegal traders and it encourages them to clean up their acts or go elsewhere.”
