Enfield’s talented youngsters strut their stuff

Published Wednesday, 10 March 2010

Monday 15th March 2010 - 6.00pm start - Millfield Theatre, Silver Street, Edmonton, N18

Next Monday will see the most talented of the borough's youngsters battle it out in a 'X Factor' style competition to see who is the best rapper, singer or dancer in the popular 'Power of Dreams' talent competition.

Arranged by Enfield Council and Enfield Homes, the competition scoured the borough, auditioning young people from every corner of Enfield, and now the best 12 will be looking to impress the judges to see who will be the overall two winners.

The winner for best rap / singing act will get their music recorded at a professional studio; the winning dance act will get their own dance gear with their own group logo and a professional 'skullcandy' headphone for each group member.

The judges are Sebastien Bassong from Spurs FC, Cllr Tony Dey from Enfield Council, Janet Billingsley Vice Chair of Enfield Homes, and Sgt Neil Standring, Youth and Partnership Sergeant.

Suj Ponnampalam, Hate Crime Coordinator said "The Power of Dreams is always an exciting event.

"The evening has the amazing ability to bring together all the different young people of the borough, who have come from diverse and varied backgrounds and experiences. It also gives them, for the first time in their lives, an opportunity to show off their talents and begin their career in the arts.

"Last year's acts were amazing, and we are looking forward to seeing what this year's talent has to offer"

Everyone is welcome to attend on the night, but we expect a big crowd, so once the theatre is filled no-one else will be allowed in, so turn up early to guarantee FREE entry!
