Enfield Council and its IT partner, Serco, are finalists for a prestigious service industry award as a result of the ongoing success of the highly progressive partnership between the two organisations.

Judges for The National Outsourcing Association's (NOA) annual awards have shortlisted the partnership's service transformation programme for the 2014 Public Sector Outsourcing Project of the Year award.

The 2014 NOA Awards will recognise and celebrate best practice from all areas of the UK outsourcing industry, and will be presented at a high profile event in November with nearly 500 professionals from all areas of the UK outsourcing industry in attendance. Serco's work with Enfield Council is one of seven awards for which the international services company has been selected as a finalist.
Cllr Andrew Stafford, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance said "We're immensely proud of the savings and service improvements that have been achieved since entering into partnership with Serco just four years ago, so we're delighted to be shortlisted for such a widely respected award.

"As we look to continue providing residents with the best possible service while delivering savings for local Council Tax payers, we've now extended our agreement with Serco for a further four years.

"This new arrangement will provide greater flexibility across a broader range of services which will enable both partners to build on the success to date and maximise value to the Borough in the years ahead. Such a forward-thinking approach and commitment to open engagement has now put us in the national spotlight and is a credit to the hard work of all concerned."

Sean Hanson, Managing Director of Serco’s Public Sector BPO business adds, "Innovation and strong partnership values really are bringing significant benefits, value for money and improved services for our customers. I am delighted that continued high performance levels and efficiencies, across a wide range of our services for councils, have been recognised in these nominations and we are immensely proud of the teams’ achievements."
National Outsourcing Association CEO Kerry Hallard said, “We have a received a record number of submissions for this year’s awards and the quality of entry was extremely impressive. Just to be shortlisted in this year’s awards really is a great achievement. It’s set to be a very exciting Awards ceremony this November, with such strong submissions from across the industry.”
