Library closes for makeover

Palmers Green Library is closing at 5pm on Saturday 26 July and will reopen in the autumn of 2015 after refurbishment works are complete.

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Children’s Services, Protection and Libraries, said, “Palmers Green is a successful and popular library which will be brought up to date with bright areas; comfortable furnishings; a huge range of books, DVDs and CDs; computers, internet and free WiFi.

There will be dedicated areas for children and teenagers with materials and computers for those wishing to study or do homework as well as a community room for hire by local groups.

There are information sessions at Palmers Green Library on Monday 7 July from 5.30pm – 7pm and Saturday 12 July from 2.30pm – 4pm to explain more about the refurbishment.

During the closure regular users of the library will be able to visit nearby libraries in Ridge Avenue, Southgate Circus and Winchmore Hill which will be open on additional days. Find out more here

Ridge Avenue’s hours will be:
Monday 9am – 8pm
Tuesday 9am – 8pm
Wednesday 9am – 8pm
Thursday 9am – 8pm
Friday 9am – 5.30pm
Saturday 9am – 5pm

Winchmore Hill’s hours will be:
Monday 9am – 8pm
Tuesday 9am – 7pm
Wednesday 9am – 6pm
Thursday 9am – 6pm
Friday 9am – 5.30pm
Saturday 9am – 5.30pm

Southgate Circus’ hours will be:
Monday 9am – 8pm (normally 7pm)
Tuesday 9am – 8pm
Wednesday 9am – 8pm
Thursday 9am – 8pm (normally 7pm)
Friday 9am – 5.30pm
Saturday 9am – 5pm
