96% of Enfield parents get school of their preference

Published Tuesday, 02 March 2010

Parents of children in Enfield who are due to start secondary school in September have now received the results of their application for a school place.

96% of Enfield children whose parents applied by the deadline have been offered a place at one of their preferred schools.

Enfield has again participated in the PAN London Co-ordinated Admissions System. All London authorities, together with Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey and Thurrock exchanged information about applications to each other's schools and worked together to reduce the number of children receiving multiple offers.

The Local Authority, along with all of our partners worked hard to ensure parents in Enfield were sent their information on National Offer Day, 1st March 2010.

Councillor Glynis Vince, Cabinet Member for Education, Children's Services and Youth said, "Once again, I am delighted to tell parents that there are sufficient school places in Enfield for every child transferring from primary to secondary schools this year. It is good news that 96% of parents have been offered a place at a school of their preference"
